This mod provides many options to build an empire up vertically (as opposed to building an empire up by taking more systems), as well as the start of a single player campaign, and improved AI code. It is now growing into a mod that provides many features to make the game feel more rich without drastically changing the gameplay. Don't be afraid to switch planets to other resources if you need science, money, or energy.Become a type II civilisation as you engineer the galaxy to your whims, or die trying Textiles produces more money than other resources, but all of the other resources produce something useful.

You can terraform a planet to a tier 1 resource so it can produce science, energy, influence, money, or free support ships.Įvery tier 2 planet built like this will make money for you. Your fleets can replenish from these planets if there are ships in orbit.Ĭheck out the in game resource guide. These 3 buildings, in addition to being terraformed with a tier 1 resource (I recommend explosives for the passive ship building defense) means that every planet is not only producing money, but it can also defend itself. There are occasionally extremely small planets that you cannot do this with, but the vast majority of planets will support 1 water producing building and 2 megafarms. You can get every planet in the game to tier 2, with very few exceptions. Explosives create defensive pressure, causing your planet to build military bases, and then it will construct support ships for you entirely free, albeit at a slow pace. Alternatively, if you want your planet to defend itself, have your planet produce explosives. Textiles have a money pressure, so your planet will build markets and produce more money. Note that different resources produce different pressures.įor example, if you want a planet to produce money, terraform it to produce textiles. Terraforming allows you to replace an existing planet's resource with a new tier 1 resource of any type. A planet can only be terraformed by a different planet. Note that you cannot have a planet terraform itself. You can terraform by left clicking on one planet with labor, and then right clicking on the planet you want to terraform. Remember to terraform! Terraforming is absolutely vital. While they may not be fast, they are incredibly cheap, and their numbers often mean that they'll be able to explore so much more than a single expensive ship. A size 16 flag ship base, with one crew compartment and one engine is basically all that's required. You do not have to fill up all the space of a ship design for it to work. The traditional glass-cannon and armored-tanker/giant-ball-of-fleas paradigms are true and effective in this game as in others. Try to specialize your fleets later on when you can afford it. Construction cores are outrageously good, their labor capacity is limited only by how much resources you feed into it, and and the more you feed into it, the more your return will be.

A size 400 capital ship that is mostly torpedo has a range of around 1k. A size 200 capital ship that is mostly torpedo can nuke an independent fleet outside of their firing range. Asteroids are great! They require no upkeep as far as I know. When you need it, this block can easily allow a level 1 resource planet to begin exporting right away by diverting the water and food to it. This is your basic galactic building block. Just tell one of them to send their resources to the other to instantly get a level 1 planet that can also start seeding other nearby planets.

Water planet + food planet = 150k if you're strapping for money.
